Crafty Retreats
This is where you could find me last week. Teaching at Crafty Retreats in the Limousin region of France. The building in the foreground is where we ate the most delicious breakfasts, lunches and dinners, and I got to sleep in that beautiful house you see in the distance.
This is the front of the house where the majority of the participants slept in their beautifully decorated rooms.
This is the workroom where all the action took place.
Well, almost all of the action, as a lot of the painting took place outside.
It wasn't all work and no play. I got to spend the day in Aubusson, which is famous for its tapestries.
I took a million and one photos because there was much to inspire, especially the shelves full of wool rovings...
...and the spools of woolen thread
...in every imaginable colour.
However, the best thing of all were the wonderful women who traveled, not just from the UK, but also from the USA and Canada to work with me.
They all worked very hard but also had a good time with lots and lots of laughter. We have all made new friends.
The good news for me is that I get to do it all over again next July NOW FULL and I would love you to join me!
It all looks wonderful and everyone looks very happy. I am very envious of the visit to the Aubusson tapestry centre.
ReplyDeleteIt was wonderful Julie. I am already looking forward to next year.
