June Journal Quilt
I find it hard to keep up with the JQ's at what is for me a very busy time of year. It is making me question whether I will partake again. Instead, set my own led challenge which will be a bit more flexible. Having said that perhaps I need to first complete this as I only got as far as May and I was enjoying it before I had to move on to other things.
This months offering comes from a fat quarter painted a while ago when I was given a suede effect paint to try. I isolated some of the motifs and cut out and fused some other to fit the 7 x 9 inch format. You can see some of the inconsistencies in the paint and it would be tricky to use a sewing machine to stitch anywhere near or around these motifs which s probably why it has languished in my pile of fabrics for such along time, and why it is all hand stitched.
I was hoping that among the thousands of photos of hand painted fabric that I have there would be one to show you the 'before' but instead you will have to make do with the leftovers.
If you are anywhere near The Quilt Association in Llanidloes this summer I will have some work displayed in their Summer Exhibition Welsh Connections. I am also teaching a workshop at the end of next month. Follow the link for details!
Until next time...
What a beautiful block!
